A lovely modern bright clean diner/lounge that invites all visitors and residents alike to sit and chat. The staff are friendly and attentive. A small garden with picnic tables and pots of flowers is very welcoming. I'm visiting in the Oldham annex today and what a delight to be able to say that.
All staff are positive and proactive. I feel as though the home has a full understanding of mum's care needs.
All the staff are caring, compassionate and take time to get to know each resident and their individual needs and wishes. They go out of their way to tend to these needs and provide the best possible care. They provide a welcoming environment for families, taking time to get to know them and keeping them updated regularly. A great team!
All the staff are very friendly. They looked after my mum for the few weeks she was there and treated her with respect. They were very kind to us when mum passed away.
Arkwright House is a lovely pleasant place for my relative to live. The staff and other residents are like a family making it comfortable and happy. The activities are fun and easy to join in. Food and cleanliness have been quality. My relative and I would like to say a very big thank you to the staff who go out of their way to make each day a good one.
Arkwright House was recommended to us and lived up to its reputation. Mum was happy and well cared for during her stay and we were content to leave her.
Calm, friendly feeling when entering the unit instantly tells you this is a safe pleasant environment for people to be cared for. Staff busy about their work but always happy to answer and update on any questions or queries. Family are also kept aware of incidents outside of visits for peace of mind.
Dad has been in Garfield for around 12 months now (give or take a day or two), and whilst he has advanced Alzheimer's and is unable to communicate very well, he is clearly content where he is. The staff are committed to their residents, compassionate, patient and dedicated. The only issue I have is that there are too few of them on the unit. They are run ragged sometimes. I am reassured that Dad is in safe hands though.
Everyone who works here are professional and polite, very attentive to every need. He felt very safe and comfortable throughout his stay and will definitely be our first choice for future respite if there is availability. I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone, you are all truly amazing and massively appreciated!!
Excellent care, lovely staff, clean room all the time, always feel welcome.
Hampton Court Care Home is a warm and welcoming home. The staff are very kind, caring and supportive. The staff and management work very hard, always striving to improve the service they provide. I am very pleased with the care and attention my dad receives. Thank you.
I am confident that my mum gets the best care possible at Abbotsbury. I appreciate the care and support and know mum appreciates it too. Mum has recently had her hair done by the resident hairdresser and she is very happy with it. This makes a great deal of difference to mum's mood.
I am very satisfied with the care my mum gets. I cannot fault anything. The staff are very caring, mum is so content, and the staff are always consistent. This makes me very happy.
I can't praise the staff at Hampton Court enough, for the kind and compassionate care they give to the residents, and the support they also give to the families. They treat everyone with respect and dignity. They are very approachable and keep you well informed of any issues.
The staff and management work well as a team, providing a safe and happy environment. The home is well maintained and clean, with a friendly, homely atmosphere. Thank you to all at Hampton Court.
I have been a resident of Lighthouse for over 2 years now and can honestly say that coming here has changed my life so much. When I heard about the Lighthouse it made perfect sense - a place that would treat both my illnesses together. I knew it was the right place for me.
I would 100% recommend Beech House at Shawside Care Home. My mother-in-law has been a resident for 2 years and she has been really well looked after and always seemed happy and content. She appreciates the connections she has made with the staff. They are very invested in the wellbeing and happiness of the residents and keep a close eye on them. We have always felt she is safe in their care. The Manager is really efficient and always keeps us updated if there is anything to discuss or share with us. Tilly is a joy and asset to Beech House and we have really appreciated her kind and gentle manner. All of the staff work hard and are constantly on the go meeting the residents' needs.
I would like to express my thanks to the whole team at Linden House. For their care, compassion and understanding with my mother-in-law. No matter what time we came to visit they were always polite and helpful. If we had a question or an observation the staff would help or get someone that could help. From manager, admin, cleaner, carers and nurses you all do a remarkable job. Thank you x
I would like to say thank you to the staff at Hampton Court Care Home for looking after my dad so well. The staff are very friendly, helpful and caring. They make you feel very welcome. I am very happy with the care my dad is receiving. Thank you.
I would like to say that today was a fun-filled day. My mum is well looked after and she's very happy there. The staff member who does activities was amazing; she entertains the residents as much as she can. She does her job very well, makes everyone so happy, and gets them all to try and join in with her games. She's great.
It has not been an easy decision to move Mum into the care of others. When viewing the home it was important that it was a warm, safe environment with staff that could give her the right care and meet her needs due to advanced Alzheimer's and complex needs. From day one of moving Mum into Linden House we have been impressed with the warmth, calm relaxed approach and kindness that all staff have shown not just to my mum but all residents. They communicate well with Mum, getting to know her personally about her life, taking the time to listen to her, which has resulted in her being happy and more contented. There are always plenty of activities throughout the day to keep Mum occupied should she wish to join in. Staff work hard to encourage and support residents to attend activities on offer. It is the staff that makes a nursing home good and Linden House has that.
Lovely staff and clean facilities. Staff are always visible and engage in a nice manner with the elderly. I did not see any management as I go on weekends but all staff is managed in a proficient manner.
Lovely, clean and tidy home. Very welcoming staff and surroundings. Visiting a friend's mum.
My brother has dementia, and resides at Brookfield House. The staff and management both care for and look after the residents to a high standard. The staff members are always very welcoming when I visit and very genial. In my opinion, the rooms should be upgraded, although very clean etc, I think they are a bit dismal.
In general, I think that my brother is being well cared for. Although no doubt problematic at times, he can be a bit demanding of attention. Nonetheless, the care and attention he receives from the staff is nothing but very caring and professional.
My brother seems happy in Garfield House, the nurses and carers are all really nice and helpful. They are quick to spot if there are any health issues and address them. There are activities he can choose to take part in and although he is unable to live independently any longer he is well looked after.
My dad has been a permanent resident at Carders - Brookfield for over 2 years now. As a family we were anxious about dad going into 24-hour care and looked at several other care homes prior to making our decision. Since my dad has been a resident in Brookfield he has received the best care we could have wished for and over time his dementia has worsened and health needs have changed. However, the staff at Brookfield have always adapted the care he needs and tailored his care for his changing needs.
The staff always provide the best care and are so attentive. As a family we feel 100% reassured that he is now in the right place and receiving the best care. We cannot thank Brookfield enough. Thanks so much.
My dad has settled in very very well to Arkwright House. The staff are like an extension to his family. They treat him with the utmost kindness and respect. My dad feels safe and well cared for. He has some lovely meals and enjoys all the food.
He joins in the daily, weekly and external activities that are put on and are wonderful. His room is homely and he has a lovely view with bird feeders with visiting garden birds and a squirrel. Dad is very very happy and so is his family. Thank you.
My dad is currently on Beech House ward in January 2025. I cannot fault the care he has received. The team's objective is to care for not only my dad but all residents to an exceptional standard. Dad would not be here without the support from the unit manager. Thank her and the team enough—they support not only my dad but my whole family.
My dad is looked after extremely well here. The staff are brilliant, help in any way they can. Would recommend.
My dad was in Laburnum Court for a short period of time but during that time he was looked after very well. The staff are caring, compassionate and professional. The home is clean and welcoming. I would recommend Laburnum Court to anyone looking for a care home for their loved ones.
My father has now been in full time care at Brookfield House Dementia Care Home for just over 3 months. It was one of the hardest decisions the family had to make admitting Dad into full-time care but I have to say he has been made to feel very welcome and looked after by all the staff in a caring and professional manner.
The staff have also made our family feel more at ease with the toughest decisions we have had to make. Thank you.
My friend has been well cared for since day 1 of living at Beech House. The staff are caring and treat the residents with kindness and dignity. Regular activities are organised and outings arranged. We are happy for our friend to be at Rowan Garth.
My husband has been in Linden House since November 2021 and has received the best care and assistance. The management and staff are so caring and helpful. Linden House is a happy unit.
My husband is a permanent resident at Garfield House suffering from Parkinson’s. I could not be happier with the care he receives. The staff are so patient with him and treat him with the utmost care and dignity. The catering staff go out of their way to provide food for a very picky patient. If ever there is a problem I am informed immediately. Thank you to everyone.
My mother was in Garfield House for 5 years and the care, love and devotion she received was second to none. Even when she passed away in November the staff were so helpful and even attended the funeral. I cannot speak more highly of the home and staff. Everything about Garfield is superb.
My mother-in-law came into Arden Court following a lengthy hospital spell and knew she was coming to receive end of life care. As a family we came to visit a number of homes in the area and Arden was our first choice.
They knew about her care, were able to answer all our questions, show us available rooms and offer the reassurance we needed. The care given was 100% personalised and delivered with compassion. Kind, genuine staff, care centred around the individual.
My mum has been at Shore House since January 2025. She was very unsettled at first but now enjoys the company and activities, as well as her bedroom position for the view. Mum has a good rapport with staff, she loves the food, especially the puddings. I am very pleased with the management and staff and feel they are very approachable and always advise me when there are any concerns with Mum. Mum is particularly fond of two staff members who are very caring towards her. Mum really enjoys the trips out of the home and the parties in the home, especially Mother's Day. Mum also really enjoys the on-site hairdresser which cheers her up. Overall, I'm very pleased with the care and service.
My mum has been in Laburnum Court for over 5 years and during that time she has been looked after with care and compassion. All the staff are friendly and caring. The home is clean and welcoming, and there is always a friendly atmosphere. The staff do their best to make sure residents are happy and well looked after. I am very happy with the care my mum receives.
My mum is cared for with respect, compassion, and dignity every single day. Every carer is amazing at the level of care they provide and the compassion they have for the residents. My mum had a fall a few weeks ago (which she is prone to) and when I arrived it was heartwarming to see a carer and the manager of Shaw House sat on the floor by her side comforting her while waiting for paramedics. They never left her side. I've worked in care homes and I've never witnessed that level of care from management. There are always activities and outings to garden centres, bowling, and other places and the atmosphere is always great. I'm in no doubt that every day when I leave my mum is in the best place and she is cared for in a safe, clean, impeccably managed home which I am so grateful for.
My mum is in her happy place; she is so well looked after. I am putting my name down for 15 years from now. The manager and all the carers are fantastic and make me and others so welcome. Thank you.
My partner has been in care for just over twelve months. Management and staff have provided her with excellent care, helping her to settle and getting her more involved with activities with other residents. She keeps telling me that she loves her room and the cleaners keep it spotless.
My sister and I looked at nine care homes for respite for our mum. It was a really hard decision, and we didn't feel any of them were right. We had all but given up when I remembered a friend's dad being in Carders Court. I knew instantly this was the place for her - it's bright, clean, nice smelling and wonderful, caring staff.
Mum was initially there for just two weeks for respite but did so well and liked it so much she has stayed in on a full-time basis. We visit every day and can really recommend this home.
My sister had to move from her care home to Linden House as she needed more specialist care. I've been pleased with the care and attention she has received while being there. The staff inform me whenever my sister is unwell or has a fall. All the staff are friendly, kind, and caring. I would recommend this home to all who need care for a loved one.
My sister was a resident for a short time but during that time was very well looked after. All the staff were very caring and friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. All the family were made very welcome when we visited, even providing cups of tea or coffee. Thank you to all the staff for their kindness and compassion.
My wife has been in Laburnum Court for nearly a year now. During that time she has been very well cared for. The staff are excellent, very caring and supportive. They treat the residents with dignity and respect. The home is very clean and well maintained. The food is good and the activities are varied and interesting. I am very happy with the care my wife receives.
Our experience has been really good. My brother seems happy and relaxed. He came from another care home this year, but we can see a big improvement in him.
Party planner organised a birthday party for my mother-in-law - she never stopped making sure everyone was involved and enjoyed themselves, cake, singer and usual decorations included. She is obviously loved by the residents. Felt very comfortable and inclusive. All the staff were involved and made everyone happy.
Rakewood is a safe and secure place for mum. It offers 24-hour round-the-clock care, and I am happy to say it's provided. Clean every time I visit, and nothing is too much for mum. The staff are always helpful. If mum is poorly, we are always informed immediately and always kept in the loop. The management team understand mum's needs, and this is critical for her support. Highly recommended.
Since arriving at Acacia Court in late December 2024, my elderly mum has flourished and honestly looks years younger. She has been in ill health for years and came to the home permanently after a particularly long stay in hospital and honestly the improvement is staggering.
She was unable to walk or stand up - she is now shuffling about the place with her walker again. She was unable to do anything except sit and doze, she's now back reading countless books, doing her puzzles, taking an interest in life again and knitting and crocheting for the Annual Summer Fair! It's all testament to the lovely care environment she is in.
The staff are all positive, proactive, and friendly and they care about their residents. She is extremely well looked after, is 'fed and watered' with a huge variety of meals. Her meds are issued properly; hygiene, health and general wellbeing monitored too. I cannot praise the management and staff enough and would highly recommend this home to people considering.
So very happy with management, staff and care given to my mother-in-law. She is treated with dignity and kindness. The manager has been so helpful to the family and we can always speak to someone and are not passed around. Thank you!
Such lovely staff, they take amazing care of my nan. She wants for nothing. The staff always have her best interest at heart and do everything they can to make sure she still has the best life possible whilst residing at Shaw House.
The care is second to none. All the staff are amazing, caring, compassionate, and friendly. The home is always clean, fresh and welcoming. All the staff are approachable and keep you updated regularly. The food is of a high standard and freshly cooked. The activities are very good and the residents are encouraged to participate. I would highly recommend this care home.
The change in my dad since being here is amazing. He is the happiest he has been in years, he's eating properly, and is joining in socially with everything offered to him (usually he shies away). The staff are beautiful, and are so involved with all residents. I couldn't ask for anything more than what my dad receives here. I'm happy because he's happy. Thank you.
The new manager introduced herself. A very kind, warm, friendly and approachable person informed us of a future coffee morning: how nice. During our visits we've been treated with respect, everyone is very courteous, gentle, full of empathy and compassion for the residents, and nothing is too much trouble.
The staff at Abbotsbury are kind and caring generally. They treat the residents with respect which is always good to see. The food is mostly home cooked which again is a positive aspect and the cakes are delicious. The chef not only makes good food but also has a great relationship with the residents, taking the time to chat.
I feel that maybe there could be more activities provided but on the whole I'm quite happy with mum's care.
The staff at Hampton Court are so caring and supportive. They always go above and beyond to make sure the residents are happy and comfortable. They also support the families and keep us updated. The home has a lovely atmosphere and is very clean and well maintained. I would highly recommend Hampton Court Care Home.
The staff at Laburnum Court are excellent. They are very caring and supportive. The home is clean and well maintained. The food is very good and the activities are well organised. I am very happy with the care my mother receives and would recommend this home to anyone.
The team at Abbotsbury have been absolutely wonderful, exceptionally patient with my confused mum. Nothing has been too much trouble, they have kept me fully up to date with what's happening with my mum. All the staff are warm and friendly and they all seem to have an understanding of mum's needs. The home itself is very clean and welcoming to visitors.
This is an update from my review earlier in the year. Mum continues to settle in well at Arkwright and the staff are wonderfully supportive of her. Mum has so much affection for the staff that she often refers to them as her 'children' - that is high praise indeed and gives me so much comfort to know that she is in safe hands.
Mum participates in many of the activities run by the team, particularly enjoying the weekly group exercises. I remain thoroughly impressed by all the team at Arkwright and can't thank them enough for the way they are looking after my dear Mother. Thank you one and all.
Today Saturday 31st May was a garden party and what a fabulous event it was. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The organisation that went into setting up this event by management, carers, kitchen staff, maintenance, church, and volunteers was amazing.
Gazebos, banners, balloons, games for children of family, stalls with plants, burgers, coffee, cakes, strawberries and cream, tombola, raffles and more. Singers that were amazing. My Mum is living and being cared for here and we took her into the fabulously beautiful huge garden to join in this fabulously special day. It truly was beautiful. Thank you to everyone that made this day so special.
Very happy with them, they are competent in what they do. Staff are very good and reliable in everything they do. Visitors are great, residents are lovely.
We have found a nursing care home whose staff give great care and attention to our relative's needs. This is a great relief at a time of worry. The nursing home runs a program of activity that the residents can join in.
We moved our dad into Linden House, as he was suffering with dementia and needed more specific care that his last care home could not provide. Linden House have met his needs. He is very happy here, in fact when I came to take him out for a hospital appointment, he got outside, turned around, and went back inside. Linden House has an Activity Coordinator and are always uploading pictures of what's going on in the home.
We were lucky to get a place for my husband at Arden Court. He needed 'end of life' care, which I couldn't do at home. The care he received at Arden was first class. The staff are fabulous, nothing was too much trouble. As his family, we were kept fully informed with regard to his care.
Sadly after 6 short weeks my husband passed, but at least we knew that he had the best. Thank you to ALL the staff.
