Visitation Changes

On the first of April visitation rules return to normal which represents a huge change in the way we’ve been conducting business over the past few years. But despite the logistical challenges this presents, it also signals a positive change. Any measure of a return to normality benefits Bloomcare and its customers in the long run, and we will be doing everything that we can to make this transition as smooth as possible. The last two eyes have been incredibly difficult for our customers and their families. There were periods of time when visitation was impossible, and despite our efforts to make visitation as safe as possible once rules were relaxed, it’s been difficult to provide our clients with the time and closeness to their families that they need and deserve. We welcome the chance to properly reunite the families we care for but the road ahead won’t be a simple one to navigate.

Lateral flow tests will still be required upon entry to our homes, but the government have opted to stop providing them free of charge. This means that we will have to take on these costs in what is already a difficult financial period. Many people are calling it a hidden tax, and care bosses nationwide are urging the government to reconsider their decision. However, in the meantime we will continue to do our upmost to cover these costs. Nothing is more important to us than the happiness and safety of our customers and their families. That’s why we’ve worked tirelessly over the past two years to continue to provide that, and that will not change. As ever, strict hygiene practices will be kept in place and we will be increasing all of our preventative measures from handwashing routines and staff bubbles, to the careful placement of hand sanitisers throughout our facilities. Infection control practices always come first so we will continue to shoulder these costs for as long as is needed, whilst remaining hopeful that the government will reverse a decision that has made a difficult job, in a weakened sector even harder. We are committed to our customers first and foremost and we will continue to provide the care they need in a safe and secure environment.
