Platinum Jubilee Celebration

Author:Bloomcare Editor

June the 1st marks the queen’s Jubilee, which provides all of us, as a nation, with a much needed reason to celebrate.

The same goes for everyone at Bloomcare, from our staff to our residents and their families, but to us, this whole year has been a celebration. After a few hard years, during which we faced trials and tests that we never expected to come up against, we are fully open and finally back to normality. It may be a new normal, but any sense of normality is much needed, and greatly appreciated. Throughout the pandemic we did everything that we could to preserve the closeness and communication between our residents and their families, whilst supporting them and our staff through an incredibly difficult period. As any of our residents will tell you, we did everything we could, and as a result we made hard times as easy as possible, but there was never really going to be any substitute for an open door, and a warm hug from a loved one.

Since things have returned to normal we’ve relished the opportunity to provide the much needed family visits that until now had been limited by necessity. We have rigorous hygiene and infection control practices in place to ensure that visits remain safe, as we all know that we’re not completely out of the woods yet. But what’s important to us is seeing the smiles return to the faces of our residents and their loved ones. The Queen’s jubilee couldn’t have come at a better time. We’re expecting thousands of visitors over the next month and we will be holding a jubilee party for our residents and all of their friends and family, as well as members of our wider community to mark the happy occasion.

The Queen’s Jubilee is all about giving back to the community, by encouraging them to celebrate in the values that tie us all together as a nation. Many of these values are the same ones that are held dear to us as a company. Inclusion, openness, support, love and unity. These are the same Christian values that underpin all of the work that we do, and we can’t wait to celebrate in them with all of the people that mean the most to us over the coming months.

Over the recent years, the royal family have done an amazing job of highlighting a topic that means a lot to the Bloomcare team both as a company and on a personal level. The royals, particularly Prince William, have been champions of mental health awareness. From William’s admittance of his own mental health struggles, to his tireless work and patronage of the Every Mind Matters Program, the royal family have helped set the tone for a new age in which mental health is given the level of focus and attention that it needs and deserves.

All of this is just another reason to come down and celebrate with us as we mark 70 years of her Majesty’s reign, our new normal, and much needed good times.
